1960-64 high performance aftermarket exhaust system for 140 HP: for those who replaced the lower HP engine in their early model with a 140 HP, something I have done for many clients as well as for myself; this system includes 2 U-pipes for 140, come with 2 packings/ donuts, 2 adapters from U-pipe to muffler, 2 aftermarket mufflers (direction can be either way), smaller and lighter than the heavy and bulky original ones and an extra adapter for the driver side and 2 chrome tips; this system is easy to install for those with a little mechanical experience (otherwise, I strongly suggest getting some help), do not need a welder, all you need is to get some clamps at your local Autoparts store and clamp it. Note: You will need to file or grind the outer bevels of each muffler tip til smooth (til there is no lip) to slide the adapters, or chrome tips. Adapters & chrome tips will need to be filed or ground at the inner surfaces til smooth, to remove the inner lip/ bevel created during the cutting process. Everything is a tight fit, to eliminate exhaust leaks that can cause loss of performance. All right, there it is, for those who demand better performance at an affordable price, this system will give you a better air flow and a nice little rumble, slightly louder than the stock system; nothing to wake up your neighbors, LOL! Seriously, I run this system in my 64 110 HP powerglide, and let me tell you, what an awesome sound! I am really satisfied with the performance, I have installed and sold many of those systems... to hear how the mufflers/system sounds like, you can check my YouTube channel RafeeCorvair, or check my "rebuilding services" page on this site. Don't hesitate to call Rafman with any questions you might have about this set-up at 918-753-2486, I will be glad to answer any questions you might have. You will get a similar kit to the one in the photo with all the parts in it.
